Solo Paris or Amsterdam to end a trip?
Hello-
I am having some trouble finishing my itinerary and I need to pick an ending city so I can book my flights.
I am going to be flying from Denver, Colorado to Barcelona in August to meet a friend and hang out for 4-5 days. I've been there before and absolutely loved it and want to go back. Then I will be heading to see another friend who lives in Liguria, Italy. Afterwards, I want to spend 3-4 days (Thurs-Sun) on my own in a city before flying home. Logistically, the two cities that work the best for flights are Paris or Amsterdam. I have wanted to go visit both, but I need to pick one and go for it.
I would definitely be looking to try a bunch of vegan food and take myself out to dinners. I love wine, but will certainly get my fill in Spain and Italy. I would be interested in relaxing and meeting people more than anything. I also enjoy techno so a late night out would be nice (I know that contradicts relaxing). I know Amsterdam is known for their electronic music scene, but I'm sure Paris has good clubs too. Being from Colorado, the pot thing doesn't phase me, but smoking a joint at the end of my trip in Amsterdam would be nice. I've also been told to go to Paris many times, and to visit the gay district (Le Marais?). I've been told I would love it. I don't speak French, just Spanish and English, so I want to take this into consideration as well.
Any tips to sway me one way or another? Thank you!
