September Itinerary (Central/Eastern Europe)

So I have finally narrowed down my plans for my September trip (thanks to the flight costs) and I've decided on this itinerary:

Arrive in Vienna September 1, spend 3 nights. Arrive in Budapest September 4, spend 4 nights. Overnight train to Sighisoara, arriving on September 9, spend 1 night. Arrive in Brasov on September 10, spend 2 nights. Arrive in Bucharest on September 12, spend 3 nights. Fly home on September 15.

Thoughts?

The only thing set in stone is I'm flying into Vienna (arriving the morning of the 1st), and flying home from Bucharest (leaving on the 15th).

I've been to Vienna before and absolutely fell in love with the city. I've also been to Budapest before and had a lot of fun there too. If I should be spending more time in Romania though, I would probably cut down a day from Budapest first, and then consider if I should cut another day from Vienna or Budapest.

I generally love lively cities with a good mixture of history, architecture, and nightlife. Generally places of historical significance, as well as places that are well preserved from the medieval times (it's why I love Prague so much). I realize Sighisoara and Brasov are obviously smaller, countryside towns, but I've always wanted to visit Transylvania and visit Bran Castle (as well as Poenari which I think I can do going out of Bucharest). I guess my biggest concern is staying too long in either Sighisoara or Brasov and becoming bored, since my travel style usually involves visiting the big capitals (Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, etc.) and doing simple day trips to the smaller parts like Kutna Hora, so this will be a new experience for me staying in a smaller place.

Is it worth splitting up 1 night in Sighisoara and 2 in Brasov? Or should I just spend 3 nights in one place and forget the other? Or might I simply be better off just basing myself in Bucharest and doing the day tour route to see places like Bran Castle and Brasov?

Finally, as I mentioned off the top my in point and out point, is there another place in the region that I've completely overlooked that you might recommend from your own personal experiences that I should check out? Keeping in my my time limitations, as well as my brief travel style/interests I listed above.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
