Semi-solo, first time on a passenger train
I’m waiting to board my train to Chicago and I’m positively giddy. It’s been a long time since I’ve traveled for fun, since I’ve traveled to a new place, since I’ve traveled by myself, and is my first time riding a train (aside from public transportation like the NYC subway). I’m staying with a friend in Chicago because #free, but I’ll have a lot of time along to explore while she’s at work. So here’s my plan:
Today
7:30 am - train departs for Chicago
3:00 pm - train arrives in Chicago
Evening - get acquainted with where I’m staying and catch up with my friend.
Wednesday
9:00 am - Shedd aquarium!
1:30 pm - May drop in for the matinee of Hamilton
6:00 pm - concert at the United Center (the reason for the trip in the first place)
Thursday
- brunch with my friend, typical touristy stuff like Millennium Park, China Town, all the food
Friday
10:00 am - Art Institute
Hopefully will catch up with another friend in the area this day
Saturday
- Brunch round two
3:00 pm - train departs for home.
I tried not to plan too much stuff so I can just explore and eat all the fun food haha. I’ve been lurking this sub for a while and it’s so exciting to see everyone’s trip reports from abroad. Hopefully it won’t be too long before I have a bigger and better trip to post about, but for now, I’m Chicago bound!
