Put off solo travel due to injury on holiday
Thought I'd share my story for some input from like minds.... I've been away solo a few times, just back from solo travel in Spain.
Mid holiday, I slipped in my Airbnb apartment and dislocated my knee, I was up 3 flights of stairs and had to hobble about to get to hospital, get water/food etc, as I wasn't staying at hotel.
Cut holiday short, and got wheelchair assistance at airport, which was a nightmare when they forgot about me at departure gate. I was pretty far from airport so it involved taxi and bus.
Really put off travelling alone now, fall could have been worse, so I'm lucky in that respect. Was very anxiety provoking, being somewhere unfamiliar, with no family or friends to help.
Anything similar happened to you all? Did it put you off? Can't imagine if I was further than Europe, or if I hadn't been able to fly home.
