Multiple questions regarding first time solo travel
I'm currently a college student heading into my sophomore year, and I'm working right now to afford a car. I have decided today that I am going to save and use whatever I have left after I can afford the car to travel somewhere and get some stuff off of my bucket list before I get too busy to do so. My questions are: What are the best cities to travel to that have the best culture/atmosphere in the US? I was thinking New Orleans but I am not completely sure. How much would I need to save for a trip like this if I live in the Northeastern US ? What are some cool once in a lifetime things I can do with something such as this, things to make the trip more personal and interesting? And finally, this may sound cliched, but what are some things I could do to seem less like a pesky tourist and instead be more like a traveller or explorer/learner?
