Making a loop from Belgrade through Romania and Bulgaria and back this June...
Hi guys. I'm currently in Italy and studying Italian and headed to Belgrade (where I've been many times before). I'm planning a trip by bus and train through Romania and Bulgaria for about a month. Solo, obviously! I've never been there. I speak Italian and Serbian and I know Bulgarian is very similar to Serbian. Italian and Romanian and both romance languages, but I'm not sure how truly similar they are. My plans are very open and I'm not pressed for time. I just want to marinate in Eastern Europe and get to know these places and enjoy them thoroughly.
Any tips? Must see things? I'm very much into Slavic culture, I'm quite a mystical and superstitious type so I will love anything to do with mythology, mysticism, etc in the area. I love music and slavic culture, history.
I'd also really love to go to Guča again this August, so if you will be in Serbia then please let me know! I've been twice in 2012 and 2013 and each week was the best and second best week of my life, respectively! I'm 40, female, born and raised in Australia with Italian and Slav origins. I've done plenty of solo travel, and generally prefer it! 😎
