What you see here is an electrical system show-stopper. We were 1,400 miles from home and without a properly functioning battery. The full write-up on both the trip and the problem are located here:

I suspect a slight leakage from one of the battery cells, which corroded the sense/balance board below it, causing the BMS to not recognize one of the four cells and shut the battery down. I contacted the manufacturer, who was so interested in this that they had me ship the battery back to them so they could tear it down and see what happened. That's the sign of a good company. The moment they had a tracking number to show it was in the mail, they sent me a completely new battery, no questions asked. (I should point out that they have no idea I have a website and youtube channel, etc., so anyone should have the same experience.)

The new battery is in and we are headed out again. Thought you guys might be interested in seeing this as lithium battery issues seem rather rare.
