Investing to fund my indefinite travel. Bad idea?
Hi Reddit,
I'm (23M) thinking about quitting my job to travel the world. I'm planning to start my trip in Thailand. I do not have a timeline of for my trip and haven't planned anything besides my first location, just going to wing it.
Throughout my trip I may potentially spend extended periods of time in some places and get a work visa to make some money (this is just an idea because as I said above, I have no real plan and am going to see where life takes me) to continue travelling.
I was also toying with the idea of investing while I am traveling, but the issue I'm having with that idea is I haven't even the slightest clue about investing, whether it will eat up all my time and I won't enjoy my trip, or if I will be too pre-occupied enjoying my trip and not be spending as much time doing research on my investments as I should, and will result in me losing a lot of money.
I guess what I'm asking is; *Are there investments that you can make that are relatively safe and low-maintenance but will still bring in some money? *Do any of you have any experience in travelling the world while investing, and if so are you willing to share your thoughts?
