Interesting US/CAN cities to visit in July?
I'm currently located in South Korea (flying out of ICN).
I have two weeks off in July (excluding a buffer for flights to/from ICN).
The only firm destinations I have so far are Montreal (4 days) and Quebec City (1 day).
That leaves me with around 9 days, and I'd like to visit 2-3 more cities during that period.
I'm looking for further suggestions for cities to visit, that aren't the typical Asian choices(Seattle, SF, LA, LV, Chicago, NY, etc.)
Cities I'm considering: Minneapolis, Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise(I have an unhealthy addiction to potatoes), Portland(Oregon).
I really want to go to the Southern US, but it seems a bad idea taking July weather into account.
Flights are not a problem, as long as there are UA/DL/AA/WN/B6/AC flights available between the cities.
Major factors:
- Tourism: I do skim through the landmarks, but mainly prefer walking through "interesting areas" in cities.
- Safety: All the concerns coming with being an Asian woman traveling solo.
- Transport: I plan to use Uber and public transport exclusively; I have a license, but don't feel comfortable driving in foreign countries.
- Weather: The average temp in Seoul for July is 29°/22°. A little hotter is fine if it's relatively dry, but I'd like to avoid hot & humid areas.
- Accomodation: Airbnbs.
- Cities I've already been to: Toronto, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Orlando, Seattle, Vancouver, Las Vegas, and pretty much all major cities in California(grew up there).
Looking for any other cities to take into consideration, or reasons to knock off any from my list!
