Currently in Slovakia for the first time. I remember that hello in Slovak sounds like ‘Ahoy’ because its the classic pirate greeting, right?

So I walk up to someone in a shop and immediately draw a blank. My brain makes the connection of the letter A and a common greeting, so guess what I say to this confused shopkeeper in Bratislava?

“Aloha!”

I feel like I’m always making dumb little mistakes like this haha. Just bumbling my way through the world but at least I’m having fun. Just wanted to share a lighthearted story with you fellow travelers!
