How much to save for a 2 month backpacking trip? (Europe & SE Asia)
I'm looking into doing a solo backpacking trip through Europe and Southeast Asia in Spring 2020. It will be my final year in my 20s and I really want to make it count.
I want to know how much I realistically need to have saved by then to cover flights, hostels, food, transportation, daily expenses, etc. I was thinking 10k or so? But I have no clue if that's a realistic number.
I'm definitely capable of living very frugally once I'm there, but want to ensure that I have more than enough money to be comfortable with daily expenses once I get my flights booked. Ideally I will have more money than I actually end up using.
I'm planning on doing 4 weeks in Europe and 4 weeks in Asia. I really want to go to Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and maybe India. In Europe I'm open to any and all countries but the top of my list is Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and possibly North Africa as well (Morocco). Also interested in visiting a few countries in Northern Europe.
Any advice is appreciated! This will be my first time traveling solo so I just want to make sure that I'm more than prepared!
