From Buffalo, NY and Trans-Canada
I was doing some spitball planning for a trip I was planning to take in the upcoming Fall/Late Summer.
Currently, I am attending college in Rochester, NY and I've never really had the opportunity to travel. Since I've gotten to college, I've been driving around the country more and more. At some point, I realized that I've never really seen Canada outside of Niagara Falls.
I wanted to know if there were any good significant stops that would be worth taking a day to check out. My end destination/turning around point is Vancouver/Vancouver Island. Based on prior advice, I want to see Banff National Park, Winnipeg, Calgary. Is there anything significant (food, stuff to see) that would be convenient to do at these locations that would fit into a minimalist budget?
*I do realize Banff is mostly hiking, I'm more concerned about stops that I haven't mentioned or things to do in the cities in between.
