First Solo Trip Ever - Scotland
Hi all! I’m a student from Wales who’s never solo-travelled before in my life and I’m heading to Edinburgh in June for five days for my first of hopefully many solo trips. I’m really excited but also kind of nervous since I’ve never done anything like this before! I’m staying in hostel accommodation and will spend most of my time visiting Edinburgh’s historical and natural attractions, such as Edinburgh Castle, National Museum, Arthur’s Seat, etc. as well as a Rabbie’s day tour through the Highlands on my third day.
I have a few questions about this, are there any hidden gems about Edinburgh that may be worth a visit in my short time there? And what good places are there to eat at around the city that are good and affordable? Being a student, I’m also on a small budget and don’t want to spend anything more than absolutely necessary. Finally, I’m thinking of getting a train to Glasgow for my fourth day of travel, where are some of the best places to visit as well as places to eat in the city and is it very walkable or will I need to use public transport to get around?
Sorry that was a lot of questions :D any advice is very much appreciated!
