Advice on Colorado Lodging?
My friends and I are planning a trip to backpack near Aspen, Colorado, and need a good room for one night in July. My plan was to use an AirBnB in Glenwood Springs, but this got booked before I could snag it. Ideally, it’d be under $100 for one night and two beds. We really don’t care about luxury yet most hotels in that area are expensive resorts and even the cheapest motels I can find are $130 and up.
I’ve exhausted all AirBnB options and am unsure what to try next. Is it possible to find an unlisted motel somewhere off the highway that’s cheaper than the online pre-book hotels? Should I wait until it’s closer to the date in July?
I’ve noticed some cheaper motels going further away from Aspen, but we need to stay within an hour drive of that town to make it to the trail by sunrise. Just need two beds in a room somewhere, nothing else.
Any advice would be appreciated.
