Verezzi is a typical example of a Ligurian village perched on a steep hill overlooking the gulf (which overlooks Borgio, another village with which it shares the town), is part of the most beautiful club of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Legend has it that it was founded by the Saracens who in one of their raids, fell in love with the place and decided to stay forever.

The ancient Saracen village, even today, is divided into four ancient hamlets: Poggio, Crosa, Piazza and Roccario.
