Tips for planning a solo trip to Canada
I have been wanting to go to Canada for a while now. I have no travel partners and am at a point in my life where I am physically and financially able to travel and don't want to miss the opportunity. I have never solo traveled and never really traveled at all. I am not super comfortable with the idea of solo travel but feel it is something I need to do. I have been browsing some websites and articles for solo travel but a lot is geared towards women. While I think the ideas can still apply, I was hoping to get some general info. I would love for tips on a few things:
- Suggestions for places in Canada on the Eastern side. I was thinking of Ottawa, Killarney Park, Quebec, Montreal.
- How do you create some kind of schedule and itinerary for a solo trip?
- Is it worth driving from VA to somewhere in Canada to avoid renting a vehicle while there? Is a vehicle a detriment to the experience?
- Little things you all have learned from solo travel experience that would be helpful to a new traveler.
