Terrible toothache two days before trip
Hi all,
I work up with severe toothache yesterday (throbbing, burning, swelling) either on my wisdom tooth, or a tooth that had a root canal in front of it. Painkillers are barely helping.
I’m also meant to be flying to Colombia on Monday morning. Because it’s a public holiday weekend in the U.K., no dentists are open/can see me. I’ve tried the NHS but they just advised taking more painkillers. Tuesday is the earliest I could possibly see a dentist.
I’m tempted to not go on my trip because I’m scared of being in more pain on the long flight to Colombia, the condition worsening and being stuck in a country where I can’t speak the language enough to get the right dental care.
I have travel insurance, but because I can’t get to see a dentist before I would fly, I doubt they’d pay out.
Has anyone been in this situation? I’m so upset and amazed this could happen.
