Solo trip to NYC
Hello. I am thinking about taking a solo trip to NYC this early November and will stay for about 4-5 days. I have solo traveled quite a bit so I am very comfortable with being alone but for some reason the thought of going to NYC alone I find very intimidating, probably cause it's such a huge city. Anyways, I had a few questions for anyone who has been or lived in NYC:
How much should I expect to spend for about a 5-day trip? I found a cheap-ish Airbnb in Brooklyn and a cheap plane ticket so I'm good there, but what everything else. Is $1000 a realistic budget to have in mind? (Which includes everything)
Things I am thinking of doing: Brooklyn bridge, central park + other cool parks, top of the rock, good food/coffee, comedy show, maybe a Broadway show but it seems to be too expensive for me, and perhaps a museum. I don't want to do too much, just enjoy my time there. Also open to suggestions!
Even though it looks like most of the things I want to do is in the Manhattan area, is it easy to get around, especially if I will be staying in Brooklyn?
And last question, is it safe for a solo female at night? I do not plan on going out to the bars/drinking just not my thing, but since I'll be there in November and it will get dark very early I obviously don't plan to just hang around my Airbnb for half the day. Anywhere in particular I should avoid?
Thanks for the help!
