Solo trip to LA for the first time.
Hello! I’m 25F from Canada and planning on taking a nine day/eight night solo trip to Los Angeles some time near the end of the year. I’ve looked through some posts about travel to LA, and for the most part a lot of questions have been answered. But I do still have some questions I need help with!
Little info about my trip: I have been to LA before but it was probably over 10 years ago and don’t remember much about it. Stayed with family most of that trip, but plan to do hostel, Airbnb and/or hotel for this trip. Mostly drove/got driven to places during the first trip, but plan to commute through transit and/or Uber for this solo trip. Not too confident in my driving lol
- I need some assistance with figuring out what places are near each other. I have a list of places I would like to go, and want to know which I can do within a day so I can plan my days accordingly. I’ve tried to google which places are near each other, but it’s difficult for me to figure out what’s walking distance from each other, maybe not worth the trip, etc. (Will reply with my list if someone is able to help out with this)
2a. I’m considering a hostel that has a weekly rate and I can move to a different location from their chain for half of my trip (DTLA and Venice Beach and approx. $450/500CAD for the whole trip). My dilemma is 2-3 days of my trip will be at Disneyland and their DTLA location is the closest to the theme park. Is it worth it to Uber that for those days (DTLA to Disney)? From a quick google search, it was about $25/30CAD each way. This scenario is the cheapest I’ve calculated (vs. a hostel in Venice and a hotel in Anaheim). If you have any other recommendations, please let me know!
2b. If I do go with the hostel with the weekly rate, is traveling back from Disney at night on Uber/Lyft the best and safest option?
Thank you in advance! I really do appreciated any help.
