North India, 2 weeks, overwhelmed by options, advice appreciated
Hi,
I'm (Male, age 30) looking to fly into New Delhi alone in the fall . Since I only have 2 weeks, I plan on focusing on North India. That being said, I'm a little overwhelmed by all the options that are available, I was hoping to get some feedback from folks who have traveled to this part of the world.
To give some background, I do like to spend time in cities and really like to take in the sights and sounds, so it would be nice to see New Delhi and maybe some other nearby cities. Otherwise, I'm looking to explore the foothills of the Himalayas. I'm really interested in seeing natural sites, maybe doing some day hikes. Are national park safaris worth it (Corbett National Park, Ranthambore National Park)?
Some places that I've researched that seem nice are Rishikesh and Naintal. Are these nice places to visit? Are there other places worth checking out?
I would also be looking to do a day trip to the Taj Mahal, but that's about the only super touristy thing I'm looking to do.
