Most reliable and cheapest gym shower solution?
I'm looking at gym showering for an expected 1-2 month road trip. My goal is to spend a reasonable price for showering anywhere without needing to think about it every day.
What's the best one in terms of locations available, monthly viability, and low cancel fee?
Anytime fitness appears to be the best possible for locations (I'll be in the Rocky Mountains and Midwest for a few weeks), but they require a 30 day membership at home club before allowing access to nationwide clubs. I'll be leaving next week, so shame on me. 😒 I'll ask them if I can pay 30 days up front to get the approval, but they might say no of course and there are still the cancel fees I'm worried about.
Planet Fitness seems to be the next best, but requires a 12-month commitment on their $22 / month plan along with a $39 annual fee. I have no intention of a 12-month commitment. Has anyone done this and tallied the cancellation fees for a total cost?
I have reviewed several blogs about this, but most of the solutions (camp grounds, recreation centers, indoor pools) are all really hit or miss with highly variable fees and time required for searching. The truck stops, though should be reliable, appear to be $12 / each which is not a daily solution at $360/month. YMCAs seem hit or miss. It's also still cold in the mornings (30-45F), so I'm not going to want to wake up, drive to a park, and pour hopefully unfrozen water over my head. I guess I just don't like my options so far.
What have you all had the easiest time with?
