More people should consider traveling abroad as an Au Pair
So I didn’t ever know that this was an opportunity until recently, but I’m actually very surprised that I don’t hear about more people doing it.
For those of you who don’t know what an Au Pair is, basically you go to a foreign country and stay with a host family as a nanny/caretaker in exchange for room and board (you even get paid). You typically work part time for about a month or longer. You apply through an au pair agency and I think sometimes they require you take language classes (if you don’t already speak the language of course)
Of course, you should only consider being an au pair if you are good with kids or enjoy taking care of them, etc.
Anyway, I think this is a great opportunity for people who think this would suit them well. I know a girl who has been an au pair twice for two months each and she’s loved doing it.
If anyone here has been an au pair before, I’d love to hear what you have to say about it!
