I'm in the early stages of planning a road trip with a couple of buddies from high school. We could probably do a 7-10 day trip and we're thinking of splitting the driving into 9ish hour segments. We're considering stopping in Rapid City/The Black Hills/The Badlands for 2 days, then driving to Yellowstone to spend 2-3 days there before we head back through maybe Roosevelt National Park. We could also switch North Dakota to on the way there instead of SD. We've got a minivan and a tent and not a huge budget as college kids. Got any tips, tricks, secrets, or favorite locations?
