Laos Advice
Hello! I am currently based in Asia for a limited time and wanted to visit Laos, it will be my first time. I have done some research for ways to get to Laos and just wanted some of your thoughts if you have been and done so already. I understand this route is heavy on backpackers but it has been a few years since I have visited Indochina area.
My options right now is to do the most common way :
1) Chiang Mai - Chiang Khong - Huay Xai
2) Fly Bangkok to Luang Prabang
I was first really interested in the mekong cruises (2 day most likely) but is it really worth it? Time is less of an issue for me but just wondering if it is still worth doing the mekong river than just to fly directly. I also see that there are quite a ton of options for the cruises and most of them are bookable online which is good in that it gives a lot of information.
