Hikes hikes hikes in Ecuador!
Travelling to Quito specifically to do the Quilotoa Loop hike in June. Basically, spending a week away from the manic pace of NYC and my job is my version of therapy and this will be my first non-city solo trip (obviously, flying into a city, but it's not my main objective).
I'm flying into Quito at 11:41 am on 6/4, plan to spend the day there acclimating to the altitude, then heading to do the 3/4 day hike of the loop. My return flight is 6/11 at 4:39am so I have a few days in between. Cotopaxi is really appealing too, as is BaƱos, but I think I won't have time? I'm already wishing I could have taken more time off.
For those of you who have done the loop, did you find you wanted to do more nature-related things after or were you good with settling into Quito for a bit after? Also, 31F traveling alone - any tips on safety?
