Help regarding travel insurance afraid I won't be covered
Okay, so I need help.
I have been on my trip for about three months now and haven't had travel insurance and just now purchased it because I did some intense hiking on a couple of cliffs and purchased it for a month. The cliff hike went well though the others and I were all very sore.
Fast forward about a week later, and I started not feeling well. I thought it was only a cold or allergies so I didn't think nothing of it and just did the usual home remedies to take care of it (hot tea, cough drops, etc).
It helped for a few days and eventually went away, but it came back again a little bit more aggressive, this time with a low grade fever with chills, so I fought it again thinking 'oh I just have strep' (I've had strep so many times I know when I have it). So I took some medicine. It worked and symptoms left but still had a sore throat so I continued to take cough drops and hot tea.
A few days later, symptoms return so worse I have a 103 fever in the middle of the night with body aches. So off to the doctor I went first thing in the morning.
Turns out I have pneumonia. I'm almost out of money because of all of these medical bills and what not.
I'm scared World Nomads won't cover me because: - they are going to wonder why did I not purchase this before my trip (didn't need it because I was still on my parents insurance until I had to get off it) once I got off it, since then, I haven't needed to see a doctor or have really done any activities.
I've talked to WM countless times and they are helping me through but I just wonder those 'what ifs?' once I submit the claim.
