First time Traveling solo to Japan
Hi All,
TL;DR - first time traveling solo and first time traveling to Japan, did not plan out the trip and need tips.
After years of wanting to go visit Japan, I was finally able to book my first trip to Japan from June 6-22 and 22-27 in South Korea. This is my first time traveling and first time traveling alone. I always wanted to visit Japan due to my interest in their food, anime, culture, technology,games and scenery.
I am a 27 year old Asian-American Male, residing in US as a resident. After starting this new job, I have been very flexible with my schedules and was able to book my first trip traveling out of the US. I finally booked the flight because I a saw a cheap ticket and just pulled the trigger on it.
I am a total NEWBIE to traveling, I never travel out of the US ever let alone traveling to Japan myself. I don’t know anything about traveling process and if I need to get a VISA or not, if I have a Chinese passport. You can say I booked this trip with no layout plan. If someone could guide me the right path, that will be great.
I will be staying in Japan for two weeks, I can’t read, speak, or understand Japanese, only language I know is English but I will try to learn a few phrases before I arrive.
-What I want to know is the process of traveling solo and what I should expect traveling to Japan and Korea alone. I feel a bit overwhelmed and feel like I should not have booked the ticket, but it’s to late now to cancel.
I don’t have a layout plans of what I want to do and should do. What I mainly wanted to do is try a lot of food and just get lost to indulge myself in Japan.
I need some tips from travelers that travel solo before. Such as; How much money I should bring What I need to bring(pack), I want to travel light weight Where should I stay, hotel or capsule or airbnb, etc How to stay frugal but can spend more if need to things I should do or should not do. How I should plan out my two week stay Places I should go to Things I should try What I should watch out for and avoid Best type of events or places during June Etc.
I am just nervous and kinda scare and not sure how to go about this trip, and not sure how much luggage I should carry. I feel like I shouldn’t have rushed this trip but I been pushing this trip for a few years already.
I apprentice all the suggestion, tips, roast me, throw them all at me.
