First solo travel experience - 2 months across western + central Europe. Tips please!
As my title states, I will be leaving in May to embark on an epic journey. I am a photographer, so my destinations are focused primarily on the best places I can go to shoot. My trip is idealized to go across these countries in order of:
-Spain(Barcelona, maybe Madrid) -Fly to Switzerland, where I will be staying in the Interlaken area. -Train to Salzburg, Austria (with a stop at the Neuschwanstein Castle possibly) -Day trip to Halstatt from Salzburg -Make my way over to Lake Bled in Slovenia -Train to Budapest -Train to Vienna -Train to Prague -Train to Berlin -Train to Cologne -Train to Brussels, maybe day trip to Ghent (or spend few days) -Train to Amsterdam -Train to Copenhagen, Denmark -Fly to London -Train to Scotland -Back to London -> California(home)
Now, this will be the first time I will be traveling solo. I am not very used to doing things on my own, but I've always wanted to try something like this. It seems ambitious as I would have an average of 3.75 in each location, so I may choose some places to opt out of. I will be packing light with clothes since my camera gear will take up quite a bit of space. I will be staying in hostels, eating frugal, and using the Eurail pass for most of the trip.
Seems ambitious? A little crazy? I think so too. I'm super excited for what's to come, but can't help but feel nervous. I'm not super extroverted but i'm not super shy either. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
