Convince me to take a suitcase over a backpack to travel for a year

So I bought the osprey fair point 40 L because as a soon to be year long traveler to Europe and SE Asia, most of what I’ve read and heard is to take a backpack.

My dilema is that I’m a girl and am finding it extremely difficult to pack my life away for a year in this bag.

I also just ordered the amazon essentials 20in four wheel hard suitcase and am fighting with myself on what I want to take. For the most part I plan on going directly to my hostel when I land but I’m sure there will be sometimes I will have to wait around to check in and find ways to keep myself busy.

So far I haven’t heard any compelling arguments in favor of roller bags for long term travel but I’m hoping someone out there can convince me to take a suit case since it will make packing so much easier for me.
