Can you guys give me tips for first time solo road trip?
A little info about myself, I am a 24 years old Asian male, I am still living with my parents. I have a quite boring life, I go to work then I go home and spend times on my computer. I don't have any close friends at all. You can say I am an extreme introvert. I want to do a solo road trip next year to step out of my comfort zones and to enjoy life while I am young. I am tired of the four walls you know? The thing is I don't know where to start or what to plan. Also, I am afraid for my own safety. I am very naive, and I don't have much life experience because I spent too much time inside. I am afraid I might run into wrong people on the road, getting scammed or doesn’t know how to get out of a bad situation. I am book-smart, but not street-smart. I am also afraid because of the fact that I am an Asian. it’s 2019, but unfortunately racism is still around. I feel unsafe traveling alone (maybe I am overthinking this due to my trust issues.) Anyways, it would be nice if you guys can give me some street-smart tips for traveling alone safely. I don’t want the police to find my dead body somewhere in the wood. And how do I plan my road trip? I am in Illinois, so I am thinking either going northeast then go south or go Northwest then go down to Cali. I am new to this, so I don’t really know how to get more specific.
