Hello everyone, I’m looking to rent a car for a 7000 mile road trip this summer. Unfortunately I’m under 25, so the underage fees are insane.

I recently discovered that there is a discount through my university for Budget car rentals. It appears that when I enter the code, the underage fee disappears. On the other hand, in the terms and conditions, it says that an underage fee may be added at the pickup.

I am confused and worried that I will book a car just to get to the counter and have them tack on another $1500. Has anyone had any experience with a situation like this? On top of this, I have read about Budget charging for miles when it is stated that they are unlimited.

Any advice and information will be appreciated. Thanks!
