Booked - Seoul-Osaka-Tokyo
(American white dude in 30s). June 20-July 2
Welp, pulled the trigger on a flight, so I'm going! Starting grad school in the fall so not going to have the opportunity to travel much until I'm through my program. Excited, but scared!
Done a fair bit of solo travel, but the most "foreign" that got was Montreal. Studied abroad in Italy and the UK in undergrad, and have visited Spain, France, and Italy in groups.
I can afford hotels, but I'm thinking I'll stay in hostels just to meet up with other travelers and get out of my comfort zone a bit... I tend to take it easy and relax in the rooms too much if comfortable.
Is duolingo the best way to get some very very basic Korean and Japanese in the next 50 days?
Any recommendations for hostels or parts of the cities to stay in would be much appreciated! I'll like to walk around, take photos, and eat and drink really cool stuff. Big fan of both countries' cuisines.
Any other advice, links to your own threads/trip reports, etc. most welcome!
