August roadtrip - Halifax, NS, Canada to NYC and back - route advice for return trip
We are big time tent campers. Me + 3 kids (18m, 11m, 10f) are driving to Acadia National Park. We'll stay there for 2 nights, and then drive to Lorraine Park outside of Boston (5 days, 4 nights). We'll move on and stay in an Airbnb in Jersey City for 3 nights, 2 days. This all takes us to 8 total days so far.
However, I still have another week to make it back home again after NYC. I can go slowly or relatively fast, but would like to camp along the way. That's our thing. I'm not in a rush.
If you were heading back from NYC to Halifax, where would you go/stay/visit on the way back? I'm debating heading back through Vermont (longer distance), or just delving into other areas along the Northeast US (shorter).
The world is my oyster, reddit! Where would you go on the way back?
