Anyone else notice how bad big rig driving behavior is getting?
I work out west where my job takes me to many far-flung locations. If it takes 5 hours, or less, to get to the job I usually drive. I can hardly believe how bad semi drivers have been getting in the last several years. One one recent trip I was cruising along at the speed limit of 75 on the middle of nowhere when I started coming up on two semis going about 60. I got in the left lane and just when I got up on them the trailing semi literally whipped into the left lane to pass the leading semi. I had to lay some serious rubber to keep from ramming into the trailer. This scenario has happened more than a few times. Then there’s the semi going 60 that just has to get around another semi that’s going 59.99. It takes him a good 5 miles to complete the pass. Not to mention the semi that will pull out from a sidestreet without any regard for oncoming traffic, even though the road would be clear for miles if they just let 2 or 3 cars pass by. I know these guys probably get frustrated with cars cutting them off, or whatever, but what they’re doing is crazy and downright dangerous.
