Potentially on a fool's errand here but I have a week or so mid-June and am hoping to see 1-3 cities while not being mobbed by tourists and elbowing my way into sites (understanding nowhere will be empty!). Looking for somewhere with interesting (or just old) architecture, good food (novel wish), and just generally a fun place to explore. Weather is less important (no strong preference on beach vs. mountains). Looking mostly for suggestions in Europe but open to other destinations if there's a strong push!
