A young traveler going to Europe for about a month. Need advice on budgeting.
A short intro to me: 21 M from Canada. Been to Europe before as a teenager with my family but didn’t really get the most out of it. I plan on visiting mostly Western European countries. I'll be in Europe for about 30 days. I'm a student and have a pretty limited budget.
I've paid essentially everything (flights, accommodation, transport between cities) except for spending money. Looking for advice on how to save money on food, alcohol, sightseeing, and transport within cities.
What's the best way to travel within the city while sightseeing? I hear taxis/users are pricey. Also, plan on doing some partying and want to know the best way to get back to my accommodation late into the night. Does public transport run 24 hours?
I've heard buying alcohol from grocery stores is considerably cheaper, but are outside drinks allowed into most hostels for pre-drinking?
Any other advice you may find relevant is much appreciated.
