5 Day Galway/Dublin Itinerary With a Splash of London (for Logistical Reasons) - Thoughts?
Hey guys, really appreciate those who gave me some feedback in my earlier post, but I figured now that I had an itinerary it would be worth it to make a separate post.
I fly into London Gastwick early Sunday morning on May 20th, and then fly out of London Stansted Saturday night on May 25th to Berlin. I've decided that I'd rather spend these days in Ireland than London, as most of my interest in London revolves around Arsenal and soccer, and I'd rather experience London during the soccer season with my friends.
I hashed out this 5 day itinerary, based around needing to be in London on the 20th morning and the 25th night.
What do you guys think about this itinerary?
Monday:
Land at London Gastwick at 8:40 AM.
Take the train into the city, drop my bags off at whatever hostel I'm staying at.
Spend the day doing some super generic tourist stuff - big bus tours and the like.
Grab a few drinks at night - or something else cool (any recommendations welcome!)
Tuesday:
9:05 AM flight from London Stansted to Shannon
Get to Galway around noon
Spend the day/evening/night doing Galway stuff
Wednesday:
Day Trip out to Cliffs of Moher and Aran Islands (is it possible to do both in one day?)
Get back to Galway at night to do Galway night stuff
Thursday:
Catch a bus/train to Dublin sometime in the late morning/early afternoon
Arrive in Dublin in the early evening - get settled in
Spend Thursday night checking out the pub scene in Dublin
Friday:
Spend the day touring Dublin - visiting a few of the main attractions
Hopefully they'll be some Friday night shenanigans to partake in later at night
Saturday:
Catch a 4:30 PM flight out of Dublin straight to London Stansted Airport, where I have a 9:00 PM flight to Berlin
Does this seem feasible? If so, do you guys have any strong recommendations on what to do in Galway/Dublin?
Lastly, I hate to have to ask, but as a Brown (American) guy - is there anything I should be worried about? Of course, most everyone in every city/country is generally accepting, but I guess I'm curious if Ireland has any sort of reputation for prejudice against my kind.
