(26/M) First trip down, straight onto number 2. Any Spain suggestions?
Finally decided to take the jump after years of talking about it (and watching this thread) and did my first solo trip for ten days at the end of March. I went for 3 nights in Amsterdam, 3 nights in Athens and 4 nights in Rome and it was great.
I was super nervous setting off about being lonely or not being able to chat to people but met loads of really kind people along the way and got more comfortable chatting to people as the days passed. There were a few lonely moments but in general I had a blast. Hostels were great for meeting people and ended up on a few nights out with people from my dorms. Caught a few gigs in Amsterdam and stumbled across the Athens Big Band (for €5) which are well worth a look if anyone's down that way.
I have absolutely caught the bug and was searching the day I got back for another adventure. So I've booked two weeks in Spain heading 14-28 April and thought I'd double down and go for my first Reddit post while I'm at it.
I'm heading to Barcelona, Zaragoza, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Madrid and Valencia catching a couple of football games and keen to see the Guggenheim in Bilbao and a few other sights.
Anybody have any recommendations of things to do/see in these cities? I'm a musician so if anyone knows of anything music related I'm very much down for it. Maybe any local jazz clubs or gigs?
Love the subreddit everyone's posts really gave me courage to go for it.
