Where to travel to cheaply both domestic and international?
I'm an American on the east cost. I am a military brat so I've lived in Shreveport, California, Nebraska, Montgomery Alabama and Washington DC. I've been to Boston, New Orleans, all over Florida, Alabama, Savannah an that's about it for large cities. I have recently come upon some discretionary spending and I'd like to go see other places both internationally and domestic. On my list are Las Vegas (for Defcon), NYC and I'd like to get out of the country. I am not a fan of flying (though I'll do it) but I'd like to start out small, so Canada and Mexico are obvious options. I think Iceland looks cool and my ultimate (in a couple years) goal would be the UK. How do you go places at affordable rates? and what places would you recommend?
