Suggestions needed: summer road trip loop from east-central Nevada to Fresno, CA and Fresno to Las Vegas

Hey friends! Tennessee boy here; I and a couple college friends who’ve all never been out west as adults are trying to plan a trip this summer and need input. We’re flying into Vegas and plan to visit Great Basin Nat’l park and Sequoia Nat’l park/Kings Canyon. Problem is, those places on their own would involve a lot of backtrack, so I think it’d be better to make a big loop from Vegas to Great Basin, Kings Canyon& Sequoia/back to Vegas. My question: what places in those two corridors—east-central Nevada to Fresno county, CA area and then from Sequoia nat’l forest/southern Sierra Nevadas to Las Vegas—would you recommend to make a big circle? We’re up for anything from parks or nature to cool towns, bars, unique restaurants etc. We’re taking around ten days for the trip.
