So, my sister wants to join...

I'm a 18 year old portuguese male and after my first "real" solo travel last January (Hungary, Slovenia, Austria and Croatia) I gained a taste for it. The freedom I experienced was just so good, I felt like I could finally be myself.
I decided to do a 1 month travel in southeast asia (everyone seems to recommend it as it's cheap and fun) next summer.
The thing is, I still live with my family (parents and siblings) and even though I'm technically an adult, my parents still have the last word as long as live in their house. They were a bit worried with the idea of me going to asia (my last travel was only 2 weeks and I didn't leave Europe) but generally ok with the idea... Until my (21 years old) sister said she wanted to come too.
Now, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing the kind of stuff I wanna do around my sister and it would probably turn the trip into a generic tour. But as soon as I said I wanted to go alone, she tried to talk my parents out of letting me go, saying it's dangerous and all that bs.
I don't really know what to do. I can always ignore my family and go anyway (I'd be paying for it myself anyway) but they definitely wouldn't be happy about. If I go with my sister I would lose the freedom that I crave and that was my main motivation to go anyway
I'm not really sure what to do, has anyone had similar experiences?
