Letter of Invitation to Russia for Americans
ONLY APPLIES TO USA CITIZENS AS WE ARE THE ONLY ONES ABLE TO APPLY FOR 3 YEAR VISA
Just thought I'd share this as it will save you time and money (that I spent)
If applying for the 3 year visa, you only need a 30 day LOI despite what any agency tells you. The 30 day ones go for like $10-$12 where as the 3 year goes for $50+
The last time I got my Russian visa was through an agency that took care of everything. I'm doing it again by myself this time to save some money (so I thought)
The consulate reached out to me after submitting my documents by mail stating that my 3 year LOI is invalid and that there is no such thing recognized by the Russian government. When I expressed concern that I was in fact applying for the 3 year visa, they assured me no 3 year LOI exists and that a 30 day one is sufficient.
So beware fellow American travelers, just get the cheap 30 day LOI
