I'm planning my first real solo trip flying into Denver, roadtripping to Albuquerque, then back to Denver to fly out. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm doing it anyways. Any help would be much appreciated!
I'm going to a good friend's wedding in May in Albuquerque. I've never been there before. I've never actually been that far west. But I figured if I'm going that far, I might as well stay a week (8 days actually), see some new things, and satisfy some of this extreme wanderlust. I was originally going to go with a friend, but they can no longer go. So, I'm doing it solo.
So, here's the plan: I got a random idea that I would go to Denver while I'm there, because it's near the top of my list domestically, and it's only a 6.5-7 hour drive from Albuquerque. Well, a one way rental car is crazy expensive, so I decided I would fly into Denver, see some stuff, drive to Albuquerque, celebrate my friends for a couple days, then take a scenic route back to Denver and chill for a couple days around there.
One of the main reasons I want to go to Denver, is because Red Rocks is close by, and a band that I really like just happens to be playing while I'm there. So, my music-loving self can check that off my bucket list. :)
But I have no idea what I'm doing otherwise. What do I see? What route do I drive? Where do I stay? Is solo travel going to even be fun? Any advice on cool places to check out, or a route with some interesting stops, would be greatly appreciated!
