How to handle Wow Air uncertain future?
Hello all,
Last week, I spontaneously booked a flight for my first travel abroad. As I valued more the experience than the comfort, I just booked the cheapest flight available, and that was with Wow Air.
Today, I've just learned about the serious financial difficulties of the airline and it's uncertain future. They closed a couple of route, but mine is unaffected at this moment (Montreal to London,Uk). My departure is planned for mid-april, but I'm not even sure the flight will take place. Apparently, a plane was recently seized by debtors at the Montreal airport just before departure.
I've paid the ticket with my credit card, and in my province we are eligible to a refund if the service is not rendered. Thing is, I still didn't book my hotel, and price will go up if I don't reserve in advance. Then, if I reserve the hotel and the flight is cancelled, I'll lose $$ for the hotel, or I'll have to buy a ticket at the full price just before departure.
I just absolutely have no idea of what to do since it's the first time I travel. Note that I don't really care about the returning flight!
Any tips for me and others travellers on how to handle a situation similar to mine?
