How much do you need saved for say, a week in the Czech Republic?
One of my siblings will be studying abroad in the Czech Republic this coming Fall and I’d like to visit them for a week, maybe two.
I know next to nothing about it except Prague is supposed to be cool, but the country seems a bit misogynistic as I feel like every other Eastern European woman I meet/hear of is a mail order bride/has a past in sex work, and therefore the vibe for the whole country is that it’s supposed to be dangerous for solo female travel. Is that true? I mean it being dangerous-not here for the debate about the aforementioned stereotype.
My sibling says it’s really cheap, but they aren’t giving me a good range for how much I should save up. They’ve told me drinking culture is big, and I’d like to partake in that a little, (maybe 3 nights?) however they (the sibling) just drink beer, which I assume is cheaper than say, mixed drinks.
How expensive is vodka or wine there? A typical meal? Hotels? Not willing to do a hostel. Everything I read about the country seems so geared towards group (male, too) backpacking travel, and that’s not what I’ll be doing, so a lot of the finance/sightseeing advice doesn’t translate.
If you’ve been, any advice on things to do/see in the country? Especially for a woman not big on drinking/in their mid-late 20’s? I love food, learning local culture, language, festivals, old shops, cobblestone, and architecture.
A lot of people have told me to travel around Europe while there, and I’d love to, but I’m pretty broke, so I think I’ll have to stick to just Czech.
