Female Solo Traveler - Tokyo, Japan - Advice?

I am traveling to Tokyo for about 10 days (not including the days flying) and I would love some advice from anyone who's done this trip as a solo woman. Many people have said it is very safe, which I am relieved to hear! I also don't have any financial restrictions as my plane ticket was free! Yay! (I highly recommend saving up your frequent flyer mile points!)

I have traveled solo before but only to London which is easy becuase it is essentially just like NYC. (I am from the US) However, I've never traveled anywhere outside of Europe or Canada so Asia is a really big deal for me! I would love advice about anything I should know before I go. Are there any cultural differences that I need to be aware of so I am not offensive? I hear they have crazy toilets! haha

I would also love suggestions of must see places as well! I was hoping to visit Tokyo, Kyoto, and potentially Osaka as well! I am going from April - May so I am hoping to see the cherry blossoms if it's not too late!
