Driving 6000 miles loop of the west coast starting tomorrow. Should I drive on snow tires?
Coming from Indiana. Going through Denver, CO to page AZ, grand canyon, Las Vegas, yosemite, redwood forest, Portland, Seattle, then on the way back going through salt lake city and then Denver again and then home.
Driving a 2019 Subaru Outback. The only part of the trip that concerns me is yosemite and potential snow fall there. I do have tire chains for all 4 wheels. But I'd have more peace of mind if I kept my snow tires on.
The only downside to that, is putting 6k on snow tires, part of which will be in warmer section of the states.
I stuck my all seasons back on the other day, but contemplating switching back to the snow tires.
Any advice?
