Does anyone else solo travel to escape loneliness?
It seems contradictory, but one of the main reasons I solo travel is to combat the overwhelming loneliness I feel at home. When I travel I usually manage to make some friends in the hostel to go explore with, even sometimes a ‘friend’ of the opposite sex and have some adorable romantic adventures. There is no human connection like that in my day to day life. Even at the very least, when I go back to the hostel at night there will be people around and not just the same crushing silence I return to at home.
I’m sure some of you have similar feelings on this? Why is it so much easier to connect with people and establish friendships while traveling than it is where you live?
