Air Bnb Safety
Hey all, As a solo female traveler safety is always on my mind. I just got to an Air bnb in Australia and the owner kind of caught me off guard. She is out of town Sunday-Wednesday and she rented out her other room to a man and she won’t have time to meet him. That means I’m going to be alone in her home with a guy I don’t know for 2 nights. There’s no locks on the doors (bedrooms or bathrooms) so I’m wondering what I can do to feel safe. I have a chair in the room but it’s super short and made of wicker so I can’t wedge it under the door knob. I’m planning to go to a hardware store today to see if they have the portable locks I keep seeing online. I don’t think there would be time to have a lock shipped online so I’m trying to think of a store or DIY trick (I saw one with a fork where you saw it up, but I don’t think this lady had any tools). I feel paranoid and afraid people are going to judge me, but I just don’t think I’m going to sleep well without having a game plan. Thanks in advance
