Yosemite to Yellowstone road trip suggestions!
My boyfriend and I are hoping to go on a road trip this summer and are trying to figure out the details since we’ve never gone on this long of a road trip. We are planning on tent camping the whole time and are trying to stay within a reasonable budget (a couple hundred for the whole trip.) We would also like to keep our drives from park to park around 5-6 hours so that they’re not COMPLETELY exhausting.
With all of that said, here is where we need a little help with:
-Our first stop would be Yosemite, then we would head to Lake Tahoe. However, we are unfamiliar with parks between there and Yellowstone so recommendations would be greatly appreciated! We don’t have the skills/resources to go completely off the grid, backwoods camping yet so something with the same feel as the other parks would be perfect!
-How much time should we spend at each place? We don’t want to rush through but we also want to make sure we leave enough time to visit each park without our trip becoming too long.
-This might sound like a dumb question but how should we plan out the trip back? Any suggested routes?
I know that was a lot of information but any recommendations are appreciated!! I know these parks are humongous so any advice about sites to see while we’re there, specific campsites to stay at, and places to hike/bike/kayak, etc. would be great!
